The activity questionnaire should prove useful in studying the development of spatial ability in adolescents and adults. In Study 2, participation in spatial activities by undergraduates was correlated with spatial ability as measured by the Differential Aptitude Test. Judgments of the spatial nature of tasks were positively correlated with judged masculinity and with greater male than female participation. Activities considered spatial by 75% or more of the judges were used to develop a spatial experience questionnaire. Judges also indicated whether they had participated in each activity. In Study 1, a list, as complete as possible of adolescent activities was compiled and given to undergraduate judges for ratings of involvement of spatial skills and sex-typing. The present research involved development of a scale to measure the spatial experience of adolescents and adults. Though not significant, it is perceivable that national athletes have a generally higher eidetic memory scores compared to other groups.Įxplanations of sex-related differences in spatial ability emphasizing the role of sex-differentiated experience have not been supported by direct measurement of spatial activities during adolescence, the period when these differences seem to increase. It also revealed that students/respondents without sports-related occupation have significantly lower enthusiasm in 0.05 significance level compared to the other two groups. On contrary, females had a negative correlation on -0.12 with an r critical of -0.36. However, the study revealed that the relationship among males is close to its critical value 0.38, with r equal to 0.32. Results showed a low r of 0.033 where relationship between eidetic memory and enthusiasm on sports excellence is not significant in 0.05 level of significance. Images that feature numerous details were used as test stimuli for respondents before answering a questionnaire regarding the images and their enthusiasm for excellence. Using a survey as a tool through a quantitative design, data were collected from college national athletes, students with sports-related occupation and without sports related occupation. Little is known about it and this study has investigated how eidetic memory and enthusiasm on sports excellence correlate. It features the ability of a person to organize and perceive vast amounts of visual information. Eidetic memory is one kind of memory responsible for human image and visual storage. ![]()
